Biking package at Topas Ecolodge

The beautiful Topas Ecolodge is located 18 km from Sapa, deep in the Hoang Lien National Park. Our 33 bungalows overlook the picturesque valleys and mountains, home to Red Dao and Tay ethnic minority people. Enjoy the return Hanoi – Sapa ride with our luxurious Topas Mountain Express limousine; get on your high quality mountain bike and ride along winding mountain roads and experience the ethnic communities and their unique cultures, or relax with breathtaking views by the poolside at the tranquil lodge.
Day 1
Leisurely drive to Topas Ecolodge and afternoon

Our luxury Topas Mountain Express will pick you up at your Hanoi hotel between 6,30 and 7,00 and your approximately 5 hour journey to Topas Ecolodge has begun.
After checking into your bungalow, sit back and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful view of the surrounding mountains and valleys from your private balcony.
The cycling tour in the afternoon starts at Topas Ecolodge down a quiet road with great rice terrace views. After about 3 kilometers you will leave the bike behind and take the short hike into Lech village, once there you will visit a traditional wooden family home, meet the friendly Red Dao hosts and experience their daily way of life.
Back at the parking place, you will take a further ride to the Moi village and learn how the local women do their embroidery, which the Red Dao people are very famous for. The tour ends back at Topas Ecolodge where you may want to book a traditional Red Dao herbal bath or enjoy a relaxing massage at the spa.

Day 2
Biking to the Tay, Xa Pho and Red Dao villages in remote area of Sapa
You will start at Topas Ecolodge by cycling on a quiet road for a while before enjoying a breathtaking descent into Ban Ho village. At the bottom of the valley you will meet the Tay minority people, the largest ethnic minority group living in Sapa. They are famous for their beautiful stilt houses and you will be warmly welcomed to visit their home, experience their daily life of farming and fishing in the river. Leaving Ban Ho village your ride becomes a bit more challenging with some uphill sections on this steep winding road. At Thanh Phu village, also inhabited by the Tay minority, your lunch is served at a nice local family home where you enjoy the view of the stunning valley while tasting some traditional local cuisine. In the afternoon, you continue biking to My Son village, inhabited by the Xa Pho ethnic minority, one of the smallest ethnic groups in Vietnam. You now continue the ride deeper into the mountain area and into Nam Cang village, inhabited by the Red Dao minority. Nam Cang village is located in one of the most remote areas of Sapa. The Red Dao women wear some of the most colorful and diverse costumes of all Vietnam’s ethnic groups. Herbal baths, local medicine and embroidery are some of the things that the Red Dao are very skilled at. If time permits, you can take a swim in the river next to Nam Cang Riverside Lodge, before meeting your vehicle for the journey back to Topas Ecolodge.

Day 3
Leaving the mountain and back to Hanoi
Enjoy our great mountain breakfast and after check-out you can take our complimentary shuttle bus at 9,00 to Sapa town. Meet your guide and start your ride mostly downhill through the suburbs of Sapa, passing through downtown Sapa before descending into Ma Tra village, inhabited by the Black H’mong. Stop along the way for some great photos and a chance to visit a local home. Black H’mong is majority group living in Sapa, they are well known for their unique embroidery. You then continue on a quiet road through a beautiful valley as you head into Ta Phin. At the village you will have time to take a short walk around to explore the village and local ethnic culture before starting the journey back to Sapa.
Grade: Moderate / approx. 11.3km biking / 2.5 hours / 20 minutes walking.
Back in Sapa enjoy time at your leisure, or maybe try some local food at one of the many restaurants in town. At 13,15 Topas Mountain Express will transfer you back to Hanoi. You will arrive at your hotel in Hanoi at around 19,30.
