We try to operate our lodge in the most sustainable way possible, without compromising on quality. And it also applies when it comes to dining. At Topas Ecolodge we strive to include our surroundings, and therefore our recipes will be based on local food culture – with a twist from our premium Danish chef. We have through the years developed a sustainable food supply system balancing premium ingredients and local suppliers.
The Stilt House Restaurant is located in our main building and was created using two old traditional Tay stilt houses, carefully moved piece by piece from their original site and reassembled at the lodge.
To provide our guests with multiple dining options, we have recently opened our grill-based restaurant – The Pavilion Barbecue which features a unique outdoor hilltop dining experience.
The Stilt House Restaurant
Located on the first floor of the main building you will find our traditional Stilt House Restaurant. Here we serve breakfast, lunch and ala carte dinner – you are also welcome to enjoy breakfast and lunch at one of our terraces.
The team of local waiters welcomes you at the Stilt House Restaurant, here you can taste our local ingredients cooked using European and Vietnamese technics. Our restaurant features a carefully chosen selection of the best mountain dishes. Using mostly local ingredients, with rice coming from surrounding villages same as our vegetables and fruits. You are welcome to explore our organic garden located next to our restaurant.
The Pavilion Barbecue
We have recently opened our second restaurant, The Pavilion Barbecue, which features a more grill-based selection of premium food. The restaurant got limited seating so book in advance! You will be seated in one of our two exclusive outdoor hexagon pavilions, in the middle of nature with a view to the open kitchen. Our kitchen teams will present several seasonal servings to share, coming from our dolomite and marble stone kitchen. The dim lighting as well as mouth-watering scents, coming from the barbecue station, provides the perfect setup for a nice evening to discover local tastes paired with a carefully chosen wine selection. So, lean back and let the chef entreat you with the best ingredients from near and beyond.
Please note that the restaurant is located outside, do to our sustainable mission we do not spray against insects, therefore you can encounter bugs. The restaurant got limited seating and only opened for dinner. It may be closed if the weather is unsuitable. Remember to book in advance and please contact us for more information.
Our lounge is located in the main Tay stilt house building; it serves as a relaxed and friendly meeting point for our guests. Here you will find our indoor fire place and a bar offering a range of beverages and snacks. You will also find different board games and toys for children. We have a small library where you are welcome to borrow a book or donate any you no longer need. The lounge is one out of two places at the lodge equipped with WIFI.
Next, to our heated infinity pool, you will find our pool bar from where we serve various snacks, drinks, fruits or small dishes. You can either enjoy your refreshments at the bar, at the tables or simply have them brought to your sun lounger. The pool is as well equipped with WIFI.
Organic supply chain
We are currently working with three different farmers all within a radius of 15 km and a rice husker. The purpose of the supply chain project is to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with local farmers in the area around the lodge.
