We are absolutely thrilled to share the exciting news that 4 of our dedicated local staffs from Topas Ecolodge have been chosen to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work in Greenland for 2 months! This incredible experience will not only provide them with invaluable exposure to international hospitality standards but also enable them to gain precious experience in both kitchen and housekeeping operations.
These remarkable individuals, who are mostly Tay people from Ban Ho and Thanh Phu villages, have been an integral part of the Topas Ecolodge family since its inception. Their hard work and unwavering dedication have earned them the chance to showcase their skills and expertise at two hotels within the Topas Explorer Group in Greenland, Hotel Icefiord and Hotel Disko Island.
One of our outstanding dedicated staffs is Ms. Tinh, who has been with us for nearly 20 years. Living in a Tay village nearby the lodge, she joint us from our very first dates as a member of Kitchen Team. Working through different positions at our lodge, Tinh will now be serving as a Housekeeper in Greenland.
Sharing with us about her decision, Tinh can’t wait to start her new position in Greenland. With the bright, radiant smile on her face, she is so confident when mentioning her family’s supports and encouragement from her family, especially her husband who wholeheartedly believe in her dream and career development.
Another staff from Kitchen team – Tuan gears up to embark on an exciting adventure in Greenland. This trip holds an even deeper significance for Tuan, as he and his wife are set to welcome their first bundle of joy shortly after his return from Greenland. The prospect of creating memorable memories in a far-off land, coupled with the impending arrival of a new family member, has filled Tuan with an abundance of emotions. He is brimming with excitement at the thought of gathering captivating tales and invaluable experiences to regale his little one with upon his return.
With the unwavering love and support of their families, they are prepared to embrace a new chapter, eagerly immersing themselves in different cultures and wholeheartedly committing to providing outstanding service to our global guests. This journey is not just about personal growth, but about creating unforgettable experiences and building meaningful connections.
Mr. Christian Milling Nielsen, the General Manager of Topas Ecolodge, expressed his confidence in the team members, stating, “I had the privilege of spending last summer in our hotels in Greenland, and it was a truly remarkable experience that I will never forget. I am eager to share this opportunity with my team at Topas Ecolodge. Many of them have been here since the first rocks were being chipped to the foundation of the lodge, so this trip is well deserved, and I will eagerly await their return to hear about their stories from abroad. I hope this will be a of an annual tradition, and one day, we may even see our Greenlandic staff joining us at our mountain-top retreat. “
For many of the team members, this will be their first venture outside of Vietnam, let alone the Sa Pa region. “Experiencing snow and a different culture will be a stark contrast,” Christian shared, “but I believe their hard work and open-mindedness will pay off, contributing to their professional and personal development.“
Eagerly awaiting their return, we know that they will bring back a wealth of experiences, insights, and memories to share with us. Join us in wishing them the very best as they embark on this incredible adventure in Greenland! Stay tuned for updates on their remarkable journey.
