TOPAS ECOLODGE STAFF GRADUATE FROM KOTO
A number of Topas Ecolodge staff recruited from the training NGO, KOTO, recently graduated from their training program at ceremony in Hanoi.

Over the last 23 years, KOTO has provided at-risk and disadvantaged young people the opportunity to undertake a 24-month holistic hospitality training program in Vietnam. These training programs include vocational training, English, life skills, computer skills and literacy.

KOTO prides itself on achieving 100 percent job placement upon graduation and at Topas Ecolodge, we are proud to have provided some of those placements.

“It is easy to understand why KOTO has such a high placement rate when you meet the young staff that graduate from their programs,” said Mike, Topas Group Vietnam CEO. “We have been highly impressed by the caliber of our team members who joined from KOTO and we will certainly be pleased to recruit more in the future,” he added.

KOTO’s 1,300+ graduates now work at countless hotels and restaurants as everything from receptionists to executive sous chefs and hotel and resort general managers.

The recent graduation ceremony attended by our Topas Ecolodge team members was held for three classes. This ceremony was particularly special as these classes groups have faced more challenges than normal due to the difficulties arising from the pandemic.

“For the last 23 years, KOTO has always been resilient,” said Jimmy Pham, KOTO Founder and Executive Chairman. He added: “We were a disruptor in our approaches to making a difference ahead of our time, from combining business with charity, putting vocational education training to the forefront and making it relevant to instilling values in our trainees, so they understand that once helped, they help others, just like what KOTO stands for: Know One, Teach One”
