Northern Vietnam has four seasons a year. While there are no statistics for the exact spot where Topas Ecolodge is located, we do have some statistics for the weather in Sapa. Please bear in mind that Sapa is at an altitude 500-600m higher than the lodge and therefore there will likely be some variation between the two places. The temperature at Topas Ecolodge is usually 3-5 °C (37.4-41 °F) warmer than the temperature in Sapa at any given time.

The mean annual temperature in Sapa is 15.4 °C (59.7 °F) with a maximum of 29.4 °C (84.9 °F) in July and a minimum of -3.0 °C (-26.6 °F) in December. The coldest months are December to March and snow sometimes falls for around 1-3 days. Frosts are frequent during the winter and mist shrouds the area. Foggy days are common, with an average of 137 per year.

The mean annual rainfall is 2,763 mm, with a high of 4,723 mm and a low of 2,964 mm. The rainy season lasts from May to September. Humidity ranges from 75-91 per cent with an average of 87 per cent.

2. SUMMER IN SAPA

Vast green terraced fields under the golden sunlight may be the most well-known symbol when people think about the Summer of Sapa. Summer is magical, coming here this time, you can experience all 4 seasons in just 1 day. Early morning will bring you a Spring sense, it can be hotter like Summer time at noon, then the mild weather of Autumn will replace soon in the afternoon, and finally, the coming night will bring you the chilly Winter air.

3. AUTUMN IN SAPA

Autumn in Sapa is considered as the wonder of the North West region as well as Vietnam. Late August and September is the Golden Season around Sapa, when the rice is ripe and the harvest takes place.
